Overview
HomeColab is an iOS app that helps you and a partner save property listing links, vote, and keep notes together. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
To use HomeColab, you create an account by signing in with Google or Sign in with Apple. We store:
- Email address
- Display name
- Profile photo URL (if provided)
- User ID and account creation timestamp
1.2 Collaboration Data
When you link with a partner, we create a shared space and store linking information so you can see the same listings and updates.
1.3 Listing Data, Notes, and Chat
HomeColab stores the content you add to the app, including:
- Listing links (URLs) and related details (for example: title and host/domain)
- Votes (Fav/Maybe/Nope) tied to user IDs
- Notes (for example: pros/cons)
- Chat messages you send inside a shared space
1.4 Maps and Geocoding
HomeColab does not request device GPS location. Instead, we may derive a listing's approximate coordinates by geocoding the address parsed from the listing URL so we can show it on a map.
1.5 Images
If you add images to a listing (or the app generates a preview image), we store those images in Firebase Storage and store a reference to the image in Firestore.
1.6 Push Notifications
If you allow notifications, we may store a push notification token (for example: an FCM token) to deliver notifications to your device.
1.7 Analytics and Diagnostics
If enabled, we use Firebase Analytics to understand app usage (for example: sign-in method, screen views, and feature interactions) and improve the app. We may also use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and related diagnostic information to help us fix bugs and improve stability.
2. Third-Party Services
HomeColab relies on third-party services to operate:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, and optionally Analytics/Messaging)
- Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple for authentication
- Apple services such as MapKit / Look Around / geocoding
- Google Street View (optional, if enabled) for property preview images
- Datafiniti (optional, if enabled) for licensed property data enrichment
3. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers listed above and with your linked partner inside your shared space.
4. Your Choices
- Unlink: You can unlink from a partner in the app.
- Notifications: You can enable or disable notifications in iOS Settings.
- Delete your data: To request deletion or export of your account data, contact us.
5. Children's Privacy
HomeColab is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
